I hope your wednesday has been wonderful as well.
I have one beautiful zucchini, a few tomatoes and one chili...
I also made banana bread today using this recipe...
It tastes wonderful.
And I made a skirt last weekend. I will post more on that soon.

Wait Till You Hear This...
Last night, in the early evening, I went outside to take some pictures of my veggies and plants. The light was wonderful and it was cooling down nicely. The tomatoes are getting red (finally) and I thought "Tomorrow I will pick these." Well, today I get home from work, put my stuff down and go into the backyard happy to be able to pick my first tomatoes of the season and I could have cried. Something had eaten big holes into them. At first I thought tomatoes worms but I couldn't find any (and there were no eaten leaves). Then I wondered if the little bunnies I have been seeing in the yard might only like tomatoes when they are red and ripe. *sigh*
Well, out came the chicken wire and they are now fenced in, hopefully safe. Here they are from last night. (I guess I should have taken pictures of the bite marks too).
I have been going up and down with these zucchini's. They were doing good, and then they weren't, again. This was just last week. Two of them turned yellow and had to be cut off. I found a website called Gardening Know How with very good information. I think the problem was there was not enough calcium in the soil. The article said to put egg shells in the soil. So far so good...
Anaheim Chilies...
I love the coloring of my hydrangeas as they are growing...

Mug Rug...
It has been a while, I know. Life has been very busy lately. With my daughters summer volleyball tournament (which they won) and cross country starting for my son, getting ready for the new school year to start, work and home, the heat and the ants (ugh, I hate ants) and we took a little weekend trip to my sister's house (loved it) - well, life is busy. And I think I am getting old because all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep, hahahaha...
Anyway...
I am still working on getting you the embroidery pattern for my ladybug under the bunting strung between the flowers. I have issues with the scanner on my printer and I have been bad about remembering to take it with me to work to scan. Soon, I promise...
Here are a few pictures from when I made my mug rug.
My stash of thread...
My stash of fabric...
Everything is sewn by machine except the binding. I folded over the edges, mitered the corners and pressed and pinned it down. Then I stitched it by hand. I also used a decorative stitch down both sides of the yellow fabric for a different look.
Have a great weekend...

Veggie and Flower Update...
Just a quick little picture post to show off my veggies and such. It is very hot here right now, about 106 degrees - as I type - and the ants are really bad (coming into the house, booo). But things are growing good.
I hope you are doing well and staying cool where ever you are.

Primrose Dishcloth...
I have to say thank you to the wonderful person who found the flower dish cloth pattern (called Primrose Dishcloth). I am very grateful for your help. I was very sad to see that the link for the pattern I had posted was no longer there. It is a cute pattern and it's fun and easy to make. So here it is, print out many copies to save for yourself and give to friends.

My Backyard Garden...
Well, it was a wonderful sunday, and first day of July, for me. I hope it was for you as well. I am happy to say that my zucchini plant has been doing much better with a little fertilizer/food, more sun in the afternoon and better watering on my part. (Funny, the things that make you happy, huh?) It's leaves are growing big and are getting much darker green. And, I have two little zucchini's growing. Yeah!
We also got a little birdbath and two hummingbird feeders this past week.
Tomorrow, I go back to work and I know it's going to be hard to wake up early. It's been so wonderful to sleep in this past week. But, I miss my friends, so with a lot of coffee I'm sure I'll be okay. Wish me luck (lol).
