My blue ripple...
What I've been reading...
It's three books in one...
My peppers have been growing...
I let them turn red and they taste really good.

Rich N' Buttery Bars...
Okay... So the bars were really good. Even after being stuffed from all the yummy BBQ we ate, we still had tummy room to eat dessert, Klondike Bars, Rich N' Buttery Bars and cake.
Here is the recipe:
Rich N' Buttery Bars
1/2 cup cold Butter
1 package (18 1/4 ounce) yellow cake mix
1 egg, beaten
FILLING:
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vinilla extract
Additional confectioners' sugar
In a bowl, cut the butter into the cake mix until crumbly. Add egg and mix well. Press into a greased 13 inch by 9 inch by 2 inch baking pan. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth. Spread evenly over the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 10 minutes longer. Dust with confectioners' sugar while warm. Cool to room temperature before serving. Yield: 4 dozen.
Yes, I ate this one after I was done taking pictures...
They were really easy to make. Let me know if you try the recipe and what you think of it.

Labor Day...
Happy Labor Day everyone. We will be going to a family BBQ later today. I made Rich N' Buttery Bars to take. It is a new "old" recipe from a small cookbook from 1998 (so long ago - hehe) given to me by my mom-in-law. If they are tasty, I will share the recipe with you.
While checking out my tomatoes this morning, I found this little guy. It's 5th one found on this specific tomato plant. I just cut the branch it was on and photographed it before my son did away with it. Personally, I can not touch the things - yuck!
Have a great day.
