Tomatoes and Flowers...

First off, on this beautiful Memorial Day, I would like to thank all of the Men and Women who have given, and those who still do give, their time, energy and lives to keep us - as a country and a people - safe and FREE! May God bless them.

I love the way my tomatoes are growing. It seems like every day I go out to look at them, they have grown a few inches taller. The two plants pictured below have so many fruit on them (the other two plants have a little longer to go before producing). I can't wait to eat them...

Grape Tomatoes

I am also amazed at how many flowers I have growing on my hydrangea bush. The colors are so beautiful...

Another New Project...

So, this is something new for me. Crocheting this tightly hurts your hands after a while...

You'll see in the last picture that I have used a small coated paper clip as my stitch marker. I saw this at another blog and it really works out pretty good.

Crocheted Flower...

I have had a couple of very busy weeks. With end of the year awards ceremonies, sports banquets, my sons high school finals and my daughter graduating from the 8th grade, it's been "Go, go, go..." But, I am so proud of both of them. And, I just know our summer will be full of fun (I am looking forward to it).

I have something to share with you...

I saw this flower pattern at The Yvestown Blog and fell in love with it. It's super easy to make. You should try it.

Edited to add: Here is a new link to the flower pattern (thank you ThreeTwentyThree Creations)

I Finished My Bag...

I love the way my crocheted bag turned out. All of my yarn fit inside so nicely.

Happy :o)

So Happy For Spring...

I am so happy it's spring. I am really loving the warmer weather, the cool breeze, my flip flops... I hope you are too.

We got some really good lemons, they were so pretty to look at and made the best lemonade. I am glad I took the time to photograph them before I made the lemonade. Yellow is one of my favorite colors. But, I guess I got carried away with taking pictures because I also took a few of the zucchini that was for dinner.

My crocheted yarn bag is almost done, which I am really excited about. I love the way the ruffled edge looks on it. The handles are done as well, so as soon as I get the flowers finished, I'll be able to sew them on and be done!

I am also reading a new book now. I was able to watch Eat Pray Love the other day so I decided to read the book (which my friend Penny let me borrow) as well. Makes me wish I could run off to Italy and enjoy a few months of fun, rest and good food.

Been Gone For a While...

I have been gone for a while. My hard drive crashed and I had to take it to get fixed at the Apple store. And because of this, it has taken me a while to get all of my goodies back. My iTunes library, my fonts, my water marks, my software all loaded again. It's like having a new computer, which of coarse is a good thing, but it took a while to get it back the way I wanted it. And I'm not even really there yet.

So, a note to you all - have all of your important things backed up on either disk or an external hard drive. I do this on a regular basis, being a photographer you have to. But a lot of people don't. A hard drive can crash with little warning and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. So, if you have family photos, important documents, videos , etc...

Back Them Up.

And, with that being said and done...

I love the blog Attic 24. Lucy does the most beautiful things with crochet; blankets, pillows and flowers, and she has great pictures from her home in England. She made this cute bag to keep her yarn in and I love it. I have been working on mine, along with two of my friends from work. You can see my friend Penny's bag here. I can't wait until mine is done.

On a side note, my son and his friends found three kittens on the side yard under the shed early this afternoon.
