I first saw this crocheted blanket on Attic 24 many months ago and knew I wanted to make one of my own. I picked softer, pastel colored yarn for it. The colors, along with the style of the blanket, look very old fashioned to me. It's very easy and fast to work and would be perfect for a beginner.
I am also working on Christmas gifts and will be sharing those after the first of the new year.
I will also be sharing some "school spirit" things with you very soon. My daughter made the high school soccer team and with it be a winter sport (opposed cross country, which my son runs, and is during our hottest months here) it will be cold. So, I was thinking a scarf, hat and maybe a blanket would be in order. Go Eagles!
Hoping you are enjoying today...

Laura :)
I you like to thank you for the lovely pattern. Should be a fast crochet blanket to make for babies born in the warmer months. And who couldn't use a quick blanket pattern to use for one of many baby shower projects. Your the best. Thanks ever so much. :)
DeleteLove your blanket and the soft colours you used. Can you give some idea how much yarn you used for it? I would love to make one but have to travel to buy yarn, so I don't want to start and find I don't have enough to finish. Thanks, Ruth
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern, but I am VERY new to crochet.... do you just tie off at the end and grab the next color?
ReplyDeleteYes, I just knot the end, leaving about 2-3 inches of a yarn tail, and start a new color. Then I just weave the ends in.
DeleteI would like to see how the ends are woven in.
DeleteI'm wondering if you could tell what your finished size was as well as the approximate total yardage? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi I love the blanket and thought I would put my two cents in I would knot off at the end of the row and then add my new color and then take the yarn end you just knotted and pull it up to the back of the stitch I am about to crochet into and crochet over the knotted end this will keep you from having to weave in the ends. I hate doing that and you cannot see the color makes it a lot easier.

I have gone to your website but where can you find the pattern for the blanket that is in this post?
ReplyDeleteHi - if you go up to the top of the comments section, you will find the web address for the pattern. Also, if you go to the top of the post where it says "I first saw this crocheted blanket on Attic 24..." the words "crocheted blanket" is a link to Lucy's blog where you can see her vintage stripe and she also has the link to the pattern. Good luck!
DeleteThank you so much for the information. Going to get started on a baby blanket. It's so easy and looks like it should work up fast.
DeleteSorry even with the url you posted for this baby afghan. The site cannot be found! Anyone else have it! If so could you email me the pattern please? Afarmlady2@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help!
ReplyDeleteI have made 5 of these beautiful baby rugs. I used Panda Magnum Soft yarn in pale colours with either white or cream every second row. They have all turned our gorgeous and so soft. I think Ive liked the cream a little better than the white.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this could be made into a nice, simple, cuddly scarf? I've done this before when I've needed a gift for someone up North. And, one can never have too many scarves... ‼️
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. It is beautiful. Are you going into the stitch or going next to it to get that look
ReplyDeleteHi! This is a beautiful blanket, is there any chance that you might share what type of yarn you used as well as colors? I would really like to make this as a Christmas present so if you could find the time to answer it would be much appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have a special color chart you go by when picking colors to crochet with? I'm always iffy with colors.
