Jealous (just a little)...

My friend Penny has a dad with ten green thumbs. Seriously, he has to because he can grow zucchini that looks like this...

While all last summer mine looked like this...

Okay, maybe once or twice they looked like this...

But still, the man can grow anything. I am blessed that Penny shares her dad's beautifully grown veggies with me. I also got some english cucumbers. Yummy...

My hydrangea's are doing good though.

Little Things...

Lemon, rosemary and vanilla simmering on the stovetop...

Pansy's are blooming beautifully...

Hydrangea's are starting to bloom as well...

Mother's Day gift from my son's girlfriend...

Isn't he cute? Please meet Forrest. He loves to eat...

Baby birds nesting in the tree in our front yard. I think there are three of them and they love to "talk". It's wonderful to listen too...

I hope you enjoyed your weekend...

Hi...

The last month has been very full. We had family visit from out of state and had two weeks of wonderful family reunion time. I photographed a cute little wedding. We had two nights of Open House at the preschool I work at. There have been track meets for both of my kids. We have also had the sniffles, sneezes and coughs in my house.

I got this Lemon Plum at the store last friday - delicious...

My Mom-in-Law gave me her old Nook - I am in LOVE! I have been thinking about getting an e-reader but was worried I wouldn't like it (I am a book girl) but I do. I have already re-read Outlander and now I am re-reading Dragon fly in Amber...

I got two new cookbooks from the book fair we had at Open House...

And, I bought some pansies...

Have a wonderful week...

Tomatoes and Flowers...

On sunday, I planted some new flowers and some tomatoes, zucchini and anaheim chili. I am very much looking forward to caring for them this summer and reaping the rewards. Yummy yummy.

The red pot here has my hydrangea bush that I have had for a few years. I am hoping it comes around this year...

Granny Square and Flowers...

I don't know what it is lately, but I have very little desire to sit down at my computer. Well, I am gonna blame it on the book - lol. I am more than half way through it now, page 668 out of 1059, so all is good.

I am almost done with my embroidery and will be sharing the pattern with you in the near future.

And, I started a new blanket last night. One large granny square in navy blue and white. And I must say that I am very happy with the results so far. In the past, I have played around with making small granny squares to "get the hang of it" but just wasn't happy with my results. So, I put it away. But last night, I followed this tutorial from Carina's Craft Blog and now, I am very happy.

This past week was Teacher Appreciation week at the school where I work and I was truly blessed by many wonderful families. Two yummy lunches, a breakfast, thank you cards, flowers and little gifts - it has been a fabulous week. And I love flowers. The roses are home grown (from three different families) and are so fragrant and beautiful. The sunflower has been slowly opening and is just lovely.

And, isn't this cute...

The little rose here is from my mom's backyard. It is so tiny and sweet, I love it.

And my husband brought these beautiful strawberries home from the grocery store this morning. What a treat.

Happy Saturday...
