I love to check out the Tangled Happy blog every day. In July of last year, I found this pattern for a flower pillow. Well, the second picture in the post is for a shower scrubby. You just crochet 4 rounds of the pillow pattern and stitch them together. I love this idea and I have been thinking about doing something like this with cotton yarn. I can just throw it in the laundry with the towels to get it clean, which makes me happy.
For the scrubby that I made, I crocheted 4 rounds of the pattern for the front and 5 rounds of double crochet plus a strip of 5 double crochets across - and long enough to fit the hand - to make a "handle" for the back. I used Sugar and Cream yarn in Cream, Robins Egg, Rose Petal and Ecru.
Can't wait to make some more...

ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I love this. I have tried to find the pattern, but have been unsuccessful. Is there a way that you could e-mail it to me? My e-mail is psmith1951@aol.com.
ReplyDeleteThank you in advance,
Peggy

Hi Pat, the pattern is found here...
Deletehttp://thegardenbell.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-aint-no-bser-pattern-reveal.html
The creator of the pattern crocheted 12 rows (rounds) for her pillow. For the scrubby, I crocheted the first four rows of the pattern. Then, for the back, I crochet 5 rows in the round of double crochet, crocheted my handle and then whip stitched them together.
Hope this helps...
Laura
I would like to know if the shower scrubby is to clean the shower or the skin.
DeleteThanks
Well, I made it to clean the skin but I guess you could use it to clean the shower too :)
DeleteThe link posted just went right back to your site with no original pattern from anyone specific.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, I checked everything on my end and it's all okay. Sorry you are having a problem with it. Here is the web address for the pattern...

For the scrubby, you just crochet the first four rounds and then create the back and handle. Good luck :)
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI tried to go to thegardenbell and was denied access. Here's the message I got:
"This blog is open to invited readers only

It doesn't look like you have been invited to read this blog. If you think that this is a mistake, you might want to contact the blog author and request an invitation."
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI have also tried to connect via the link that you provided for the pattern for the scrubby and I also was denied. Also tried getting the actual pillow pattern you referred to again also denied. Could you email me the pattern at tammy_mom2@yahoo.com? I would greatly appreciate it. Want to make them for my sisters and mom for christmas.
Thank you in advance and have a Blessed day,
tammy J

ReplyDeleteI have to wonder what the point of having a blog is if you don't have it open for viewing.
Maybe you could ask for permission to post the pattern here for your readers (giving credit to the garden bell, of course)
