In my last post you saw how I was trying my hand at a granny square for a bunting.
And, it was Way To Big.
So, after some thought about how I could re-work it, I'm pretty happy with the results so far. They are approximately 3 inches square and made with cotton yarn. I wanted them to look like something my Nana would have made - lots of colors.
I will post more pictures when they are finished and hung up.

I am loving these little Granny squares, love the colors. xx
ReplyDeleteOh those are lovely. I'm new to crocheting and tried to make my first granny square this morning. May I ask how you got yours to be that size? Was it your hook size? How many chains you started with?
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I worked up the granny squares with half double crochet and only made two stitches, instead of three, in each opening. I started with a magic ring for the center, used Lily Sugar and Cream cotton yarn and used a size 5.5 hook.
